QUETTA: Militants blew up two gas pipelines in Pirkoh and near the Loti gas field within the Bugti tribal territory on Wednesday morning, two days after security forces claimed to have arrested 20 suspects involved in bombing gas pipeline.

According to an official of the Balochistan Levies, unknown persons planted explosive materials and detonated them with the use of a remote.

As a result of the explosion, an eight-inch pipeline was destroyed in Pirkoh. Due to damage sustained by the pipeline, gas supply was suspended to the gas plant from well number 41.

Similarly, the gas supply to the Loti gas field from well number 3 was also suspended due to the blast on the pipeline.

The banned outfit Baloch Republican Army (BRA) claimed responsibilities for the attacks.

This was the fourth consecutive attack on the gas pipelines in the Pirkoh area in Bugti tribal territory.
