There is a need to strengthen the relationship between the media and the education sector decision makers.

LAHORE:

“Education is vital for every society. The media play an important role in promoting educational activities,” Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said on Monday.

He was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of Education Reporters’ Association (ERA) at the Governor’s House.

“Once, during a press conference, Tony Blair was asked that if he won the election, what would his top three priorities be? Blair replied education, education and education. I think this is the approach that we should adopt in Pakistan and other developing countries,” he said.

He said he wanted to support education reporters to strengthen the relationship between the media and the education sector decision makers.

Education Reporters’ Association’s new president Adnan Lodhi said he planned to organise a conference on education to deliberate on what could be done to improve education standards.
