Shop heist: Bandits steal jewellery worth Rs5m
The police detained the watchmen over suspicion of being involved in the act.
KARACHI:
Armed bandits broke into a jewellery store and fled with jewellery worth around Rs5 million from a shop in Azizabad on Monday. The robbery took place at Shaheen Jewellers in Karimabad’s Faisal Bazaar in district Central. The shop owner, Azeem Ahmed, claimed he came to know about the robbery after he reached the shop on Monday, and found the market’s two watchmen tied up. Ahmed added that the locks of his shop were broken. The police detained the watchmen over suspicion of being involved in the act. Police officials, while quoting the initial investigations, said that the incident took place on Sunday night and added that a case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
