Reckless driving: Two killed in separate accidents

In Nowshera district, an unidentified man was hit by a speeding car and died on the spot.

JAMRUD: A man was killed and another injured when a speeding vehicle ran them over in the Ghundai area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency on Sunday. An official of the political administration said the driver of a vehicle, headed to Jamrud from Sakhi Pul, lost control near the Ghundai village and hit pedestrians Lal Khan and Mir Alam Jan. He further said Khan was killed on the spot while Jan sustained several injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He said Jan’s condition was stated to be critical. Eyewitnesses said the mishap occurred due to speeding and carelessness of the driver. Meanwhile, in Shaidu area of Nowshera district, an unidentified man was hit by a speeding car and died on the spot. The car’s driver managed to escape from the scene.
