Inflation: SPI down 0.20% during week

The SPI for the combined income group decrease by 0.17% during the week under review.

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 23 has registered a decrease of 0.20% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 199.42 points against 199.82 recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group decrease by 0.17% during the week under review, standing at 208.78 points against 209.14 in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group inflated 9.54%. During the week under review, average prices of nine items registered a decrease while those of 18 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 26 items remained unchanged.
