Low-intensity blast: Rangers’ mobile comes under attack

Rangers official injured in attack in Nusrat Bhutto Colony.

KARACHI: A Rangers official was injured when a low-intensity bomb exploded in Nusrat Bhutto Colony on Monday night. Initial reports said unidentified men lobbed explosives at a Rangers mobile stationed near Manghopir in Nusrat Bhutto Colony, which resulted in the injury of one official. The injured was moved to Rangers Hospital in North Nazimabad where doctors termed his condition as stable. Brigadier Hamid of the Sacchal Wing of the Rangers told The Express Tribune that the cracker bomb was used to attack the mobile, adding that the Rangers have also apprehended two suspects. Sources in Rangers said that the attack could be the reaction of Rangers operation in the Manghopir area in which the rangers apprehended around 20 suspects including some hardcore militants.
