The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) held a candle vigil to commemorate the martyrdoms of Chaudhry Aslam and Aitazaz Hasan of Hangu at Jinnah Ground in Azizabad on Saturday.

MQM`s coordination committee members, MNAs, MPAs and other party workers participated in the vigil to pay homage to the martyrdom of Aslam and a high school student Aitzaz who were killed in separate attacks in Karachi and Hangu.


MQM deputy convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that Aslam and Aitzaz sacrificed their lives rejecting the ideology of the terrorists. He said that the government has brought the nation to a place where no one is safe, adding that they laid their lives defending the country against terrorists.


The government should rename Karachi’s Lyari Expressway in the name of Chaudhry Aslam, demanded MQM MNA Ali Raza Abidi. He said it is the need of the hour that people unite against the terrorists.

Brilliant move by MQM. We all know Aslam was THE arch nemesis of the banned militant outfit from Lyari!

I wonder what the old MQM workers from 1992 will have to say about this demand.
