DSP Shafqat Chandio said that Shoaib Javed, 32, was travelling in his red Suzuki Cultus along with his father when at least two armed men riding on a motorbike fired on them near Shahrah-e-Faisal, within the limits of Tipu Sultan police station.
Shoaib and his father, who were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony, were wounded in the incident. They were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Shoaib succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
DSP Chandio added that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
