Nabbed: Police arrest notorious peddler

Alleged drug peddler was killed and two others were arrested during an alleged encounter with the police in Korangi.

KARACHI: An alleged drug peddler was killed and two others were arrested during an alleged encounter with the police within the limits of Korangi Industrial Area.  The deceased was identified as Ajab Gul and the arrested suspects as Iqbal and Ayub. Police officials said that the encounter took place in Korangi’s Mehran Town. DSP Rahim Shah said that the deceased was a notorious drug peddler and was also involved in various other crimes, including target killings of policemen and added that he was also involved in target killing of Awami National Party candidate Sadiq Zaman Khattak and his six-year-old son in Korangi’s Bilal Colony on May 2012.Seperately, a watchman of a private bungalow in Defence was killed for resisting a robbery attempt within the limits of the Defence police station. The deceased was identified as Abdul Hameed. SHO Obaidullah said that unidentified robbers entered the bungalow and held the residents hostage at gunpoint and tortured the watchman for resisting.
