Stringent measures: Curfew imposed in Lower Orakzai
Lower Orakzai Assistant Political Agent Mawaz Khan Afridi said the curfew was imposed for security reasons.

Orakzai Agency Political administration imposed a one-day curfew in the lower subdivision of the agency on Friday morning. Lower Orakzai Assistant Political Agent Mawaz Khan Afridi said the curfew was imposed for security reasons without going into the details. He said tribesmen were informed through loudspeakers to restrict their movement and not come out of their houses even in case of emergency. Afridi said educational institutes were shut down and business activities halted, adding the curfew has initially been imposed for 24 hours and will be relaxed at 6am on Saturday. Another official, requesting anonymity, revealed the curfew has been imposed for deployment of security forces in the agency as convoys have earlier been attacked during movement.
