MULTAN: The EDO (Education) has formed a committee to investigate the alleged misappropriation of funds that had been collected from schools in the Multan district to get the buildings repainted.

According to government officials, during the tenure of the former EDO (Education), Tahira Shaifq Chishti, a contractor had been called and asked to provide an estimate of the cost of painting more than 600 schools of Multan. Funds had then been taken from all the schools but the buildings were never painted.

When the contractor was contacted, he told the officials that he hadn’t been paid and hence hadn’t started painting the schools.
