According to a notification issued by Home Secretary Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, the department extended its gratitude to security agencies, police, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and the Peshawar Electric Supply Company.
“We are thankful to all those who, despite knowing severe threats, extended their all out support and played a vital role in maintaining peace and tranquillity in such a critical stage,” the notification read.
The home secretary also thanked the Ulema, peace committees, civil defence, volunteers, traders, and the public for their assistance.
As part of its security measures on January 13, the K-P home department requested the federal interior ministry to suspend cellular networks across the province. A ban was placed on pillion riding in the provincial capital to maintain peace during Eid Miladun Nabi.
