Deranged man?: Uncle allegedly beheads 5-year-old niece

Uncle, 25, purportedly hits his niece with an axe while she was playing in the courtyard of her house.

KARACHI: A five-year-old girl was allegedly beheaded by her own uncle in Soomar Panhwar village near Seerani town of district Badin on Monday morning.

Noor Jahan, daughter of Abdullah Panhwar, was playing in the courtyard of her house when her 25-year-old uncle Umar Panhwar purportedly hit her with an axe and escaped.

Later, the villagers caught him and handed him over to Seerani police.

Umar is said to be suffering from a mental illness and according to the villagers and his relatives, he often attacked villagers but he never hurt anyone seriously.

This is the first time he used an axe and killed his own niece. The villagers informed The Express Tribune that Umar was not mentally ill by birth but he has been behaving like a mad person for the last five years.
