Hasan, a student from Hangu, tackled a bomber on January 6 who had come to attack his school at a time when hundreds of students were inside. The brave boy died while protecting others.
The K-P government also announced that the name of Hasan’s school will be changed to Shaheed Aitizaz Hasan Government High School from Government High School Ibrahimzai.
The provincial government proclaimed that a stadium will also be made in his honour.
A delegation of the provincial government visited Hasan’s house to express their condolences.
On January 12, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan had expressed disappointment over how poorly the K-P government responded to Hasan’s death.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Imran had said he was proud of the teenager’s martyrdom and that he was a national hero. He had further stated it was sad that the provincial government had failed to reach the young boy’s family.
I have announced setting up of a trust fund for Aitzaz Hassan's family. Am deeply disappointed at the response of the KP govt on this issue.

On the occasion, Imran had announced that his party will cooperate with Hasan’s family and take care of their expenses.
The PTI chairperson had also announced the establishment of Aitizaz Hasan Fund.
Praise
The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) on January 12 had bestowed a global bravery award on Hasan.
On January 11, Hasan was honoured with the Sitara-e-Shujaat, the country’s highest award for bravery.
An official from the PM house had said the boy’s family was expected to receive the posthumous award on March 23, Pakistan’s national day following the president’s ceremonial approval.
Terming his sacrifice as “the highest act of bravery”, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on January 11 had heaped praise on Aitizaz Hasan. Army troops had also presented a guard of honour at Hasan’s grave to salute the bravery of the teenager.
“It is a sterling example of bravery and sacrifice by a lad of only 15 years,” the army chief had said in his condolence message according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations.
Teenage activist Malala Yousufzai had announced on January 10 that she will give Rs0.5 million to Aitizaz Hasan’s family and called on the government to bestow the highest civilian award on him.

Pervaiz Khattak (the KP CM) seems to be drawing his parallel from Pak Cricket Team Captain, an insipid, laid-back leader like Misbah causing ineffectiveness in team's performance, unable to inspire motivation & lacking in prompt decision making. Sooner or later, IK has to replace him with some more pro-active character to stir a serving appetite in the PK novice PTI Political Team to win.
hypocricy at its best...honor the dead and not condemn the culprit
@Tight Patloon:
Only when he saw PMLN leadership taking credit by giving Aitezaz medal. This is just opportunism on his behalf, not real sympathy.
Imran khan did not criticize the killers of this brave boy. He chose to pay up with a heavy sum
Dear All Politicians,
Do not promise us that you are changing school name as it is not going to create any difference in our lives instead of that promise us that we are not going have any more like Shaheed Aitizaz Hasan. Do not promise us about Rs. 5 million instead of that promise us that our children, brothers, sisters and parents can live a life free from worries and tension of these terrorist. Regards, A Pakistani who just want to live a normal life.
Thats about an honest ldr. Accept mistakes and rectify them.
Its their responsibility
Better late than never.... @ IK, PTI and KP govt... Its ok if you learn from your mistakes.
Very good of IK to have the school's name changed in honour of this brave young man. However, one hasn't heard him criticise the terrorists for this dastardly act or order the KP government to find the perpetrators responsible for the death of one young boy who should be an example to all about right values....
