LAHORE: Dengue virus is becoming a serious threat across the country as over a 100 cases were confirmed in Lahore in just the last 24 hours.

This spike brings the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 444 in one month.

The rise in the virus is being attributed to the failure of the district administration in launching its anti mosquito campaign.

Usually, a repellent is sprayed in the mosquito infested areas in July. However, this year the spraying began in September, three months late.

Most of the cases have been reported in the Kot Khwaja Saeed, Misri Shah, Multan Road, Iqbal Town and Samanabad areas of Lahore.
