Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) refrained from confirming their scheduled tour of Bangladesh after officials of the two boards met in Dubai on Thursday.
According to ESPNcricinfo, officials from both boards held discussions on the sidelines of the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting.
Sri Lanka are scheduled to begin the tour of Bangladesh on January 27 where they are set to play two Tests, two Twenty20s and three One-Day Internationals.
Following the meeting, SLC President Jayantha Dharmadasa said that a two-member delegation will visit Bangladesh on January 13 to assess the security situation.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also planned to raise security concerns over the Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 on the sidelines of the meeting. Pakistan Cricket Board Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman Najam Sethi had confirmed that he would put forward the case. An official close to the ICC meeting confirmed the issue was discussed and the details are likely to be revealed on Friday.
