SWAT: An election tribunal on Thursday declared the election of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Qaimoos Khan illegal and suspended his membership, Express News reported.

Qaimoos was elected as a member of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly from PK-86 Swat in the May 11 general elections.

Awami National Party leader Haider Ali had challenged the election in the constituency and accused Qaimoos of rigging.

Today, the election tribunal issued its verdict and ordered re-election in the constituency.

Earlier, re-polling was ordered in four polling stations for women in PK-81 Swat-II after the election tribunal received an application providing proof of mass rigging on Election Day.

@FFarooq: Atleast something is being done against the corrupt. Not like Khi and Punjab where the corrupt go scot free.

It is the second such case in KPK after PTI candidate suspension ..... Looks like in KPK, it was the competition of rigging rather than votes.
