LG polls: PPP candidates elected unopposed in Sujawal district

KARACHI: The chairperson of the new district, Sujawal, will be from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), it emerged on Tuesday, as 21 out of 36 members have been elected unopposed.

“The members will serve the people of Sujawal according to the vision of the PPP leadership,” said the party’s leader, Syed Owais Muzaffar, in a message on Tuesday. Congratulating the new members of district council, he said that it was a clear message that the party graph and image was being enhanced due to their services to the people. “The PPP believes in serving people without any discrimination. It is the vision of the provincial government to make all districts developed and prosperous,” Muzaffar added. He said that the government will make efforts to provide basic facilities, such as potable water and access to health and education to the people of Sujawal.

In a statement issued by the newly elected members, they said that their success could be attributed to the efforts of Muzaffar as he had brought different development schemes to the new district.

Several well-reputed personalities of Sujawal district had joined the PPP after Muzaffer introduced the new development schemes reecntly.
