Sunni Tehreek rally: Qadri pleads for welfare state

Says his party would announce its plan against terrorism and inflation after 12th Rabiul Awal.

KARACHI: Sunni Tehreek (ST) chief Sarwat Ejaz Qadri on Sunday said that his party would not allow anyone to make another East Pakistan and that ST workers were ready to die for the cause. Addressing a public gathering at Nishtar Park on Sunday, Qadri said his party would announce its plan against terrorism and inflation after 12th Rabiul Awal. “We want a welfare state,” Qadri said adding that he wanted the system to change and not just faces. “We want to spread education and eliminate class difference from Pakistan,” Qadri said addressing his party workers. He reminded that courts had never taken suo motu notice of the Nishtar Park tragedy and hoped that the new Supreme Court chief justice would do so. He also demanded the government to announce public holiday on 11th Rabiul Awal and to avoid load shedding across the country on the same day.
