Controversial oil refinery: ‘Decision to be made on consensus’
CM says all districts of the province would get equal development funds.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday said the proposed oil refinery will be established after consultation with elected representatives of Kohat and Karak, and will not be transferred to any other province. Khattak said all districts of the province would get equal development funds and no injustice would be done to any particular district of K-P. Khattak, speaking at a wedding reception, said proper legislation was being devised to eliminate corruption and nepotism from society, adding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government was establishing an autonomous Accountability Commission which will soon become operational. He said the commission will have the power to nab those involved in corruption regardless of their influential position. He assured that problems of local journalists would be solved on a priority basis and informed reporters at the occasion of the constitution of a “shuhada package” for families of deceased journalists.
