Nisar promises to enhance compensation for fallen Frontier Corps personnel

ISLAMABAD: As the death toll suffered by the Frontier Corps (FC) in the war against terror topped 1,000, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan promised to enhance the operational capacity of the paramilitary force and compensation for next of kin of fallen soldiers.

The promise was made in a meeting with Inspector General (IG) FC Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Major General Ghayur Mehmood in Islamabad on Saturday.

IG FC Maj-Gen Mehmood told Nisar that 1,009 troopers had been killed while 2,979 personnel had been injured in operations against militants. He further highlighted that the FC has been playing a role in ensuring security both within the country as well as along Pakistan’s 1200-km long international border in K-P.

The FC official assured Nisar that despite the losses it has suffered, the force will continue fighting till the very end.

Nisar commended the force for its dedication and acts of bravery over and above the call of duty. He promised that the government will do everything it can to address the problems being faced by the FC.
