ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Saturday asked the federal government to show clearly what policy does the state intend to pursue in the ongoing Pervez Musharraf case.

PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Shireen Mazari held a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday to present PTI's stance on the issue.

According to a statement issued after the conference, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that "the government is in a dilemma over the treason trial of former president Pervez Musharraf and several covert factors are at work behind the issue, but we don't want to get entangled in hearsay and demand an immediate clarification from the government."

Qureshi said Musharraf's departure from the country was also clouded with doubts and rumours, but as far as the former dictator's health was concerned, the country has no shortage of skilled physicians itself.

The party also sought further clarification from MQM chief Altaf Hussain over his remarks about a "separate province for Urdu-speaking Sindhis", besides condemning the murder of ASWJ leader and any kind of sectarian violence in general.

The PTI leader further remarked that MQM's claim of representing the poor was absurd, coming from a party which has always ruled over the Sindhi people.

He rejected the idea of partition in Sindh, saying that NFC award had increased the share of resources considerably for every province, so claims of inequitable division of resources was not understandable.

@KAlam: PTI and insafians' silence over the unjust ways of government and judiciary, pretty much tells that their "Naya Pakistan" is nothing more than a lip praying service. They support selective justice, not complete justice. I am disappointed in PTI.

What business PTI has with Musharraf? Can't they just simply focus on "Naya Pakistan"?
