KARACHI:

There is very little awareness about autism. This view was expressed by the health experts at a symposium titled ‘Meeting the challenges of autism in Pakistan’ held at Arag Auditorium at Dow University of Health Sciences on Thursday.

If detected at an early age, treatment can have a positive impact on children with autism, the experts pointed out, admitting that there are very few places in Pakistan where these children can be managed.

Early intervention is so critical in the diagnosis and determining effective therapy programs for children with Autism. The benefits of Early Intervention evaluations and services should be more known to parents and it is great that an article like this is published
