FAISALABAD: The Thikriwala police on Wednesday registered a case against a landowner and his son for killing a labourer after an altercation over wages. Ghulam Abbas, a witness, said that Mubarak Ali had been working for Rana Munawwar, resident of Chak No 39-JB, for three years. Munawwar had been delaying payment of wages. Ali informed his family elders of the situation. When Ali and his family approached Munawwar to request prompt payment, he abused them. When Ali responded aggressively, Munawwar called his son Rana Mubasshar who brought out a gun. Munawwar shot Ali who was rushed to a hospital but did not survive, said Abbas. SHO Thikriwala police said the police were waiting for a post-mortem report. The SHO added that a team had been formed to trace the suspects.
