KARACHI:

A member of provincial assembly of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) survived a bomb attack in SITE area on Tuesday.

MQM’s MPA Arshad Vohra escaped from a bomb attack near Siemens Chowrangi in SITE area. He was allegedly attacked ten minutes after unidentified gunmen killed senior police inspector, Baharuddin Babar.

Vohra was attacked while he was on his way from his house in PECHS society to his factory. “I was going to my factory as per the routine,” said Vohra while talking to The Express Tribune. “They [culprits] first opened fire and then threw some explosive material on my car, if the driver had not sped up, the bomb would have hit my car.”

SHO Atiqur Rehman told The Express Tribune that Vohra remained unhurt in the attack, as his vehicle had only passed from where the bomb had hit. “It is unclear whether Vohra was the target of the culprits or was it accidental,” he said.
