Assault: Woman, son beaten up

Police say the assailants had a land dispute with the woman’s family.

KAMONKI: Armed men broke into a house and beat up a woman and her son over on Monday. Police said Perveen Bbi and her son Muhammad Yaqoob were home when Meeraj Khalis, Kaneez Bibi, Muhammad Asim and Shahbaz Ahmad entered the house and beat them with clubs and bats. Perveen’s right arm was fractured. Her son, too, was injured. Police said the assailants had a land dispute with the woman’s family and had threatened them with dire consequences.
