Infrastructure: Two sports stadiums for Gujranwala

Source in the Buildings Department says the projected cost of the project was Rs60 million.

GUJRANWALA: The district government has decided to build two stadiums in Gujranwala district to promote sports. A source in the Buildings Department said the projected cost of the project was Rs60 million. He said the stadiums would be built in Alipur Chatha and Nizampur Chatha. He said the feasibility report of the project had been sent to the district government. He said MPAs Akmal Saif and Peer Ghulam Fareed had sent the feasibility report to District Officer (Planning) for approval. The district government plans to construct a road till Kot Harral in Alipur Chatha but the MPA Akmal Saif stopped the project for construction of the stadium. According to the source, the proposal would be sent to the provincial government soon for final approval and work would start accordingly.
