LAHORE:

Foundation for Rehabilitation and Education of Slow Children (FRESH) Chairperson Ashba Kamran called on the Bishop Reverand Irfan Jamil and extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community on the occasion. She presented candles made by students at a Pakistan Association for Disabilities in Learning (PADIL) workshop.

Kamran told the bishop it had launched a project to raise awareness about learning disabilities among masses. She said the project was aimed at changing social attitudes about people with learning disabilities. She said she believed that a large number of students dropped out of high school because their learning disability was not properly addressed.

She said majority of people with learning disabilities in Pakistan had attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) or dyslexia. She said the government should extend support to organisation trying to address the issue.
