Parallel rulings: Bench formed for delimitation dispute

The first hearing will be held on December 26.

LAHORE: LHC Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Monday constituted a three-member bench to hear a petition against delimitation for local government elections in the province. The first hearing will be held on December 26. Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan on Friday referred the case to the chief justice, saying that two parallel rulings on the issue had created confusion and a larger bench should hear the case. The petitioner had argued that a LHC single bench had ruled in favour of delimitation while another single bench had decided against it. He said the two rulings were an “anomaly” and a large bench should  decide on the matter.
