“The government is taking measures to expand the scope of employment of Pakistan’s workers in Malaysia and European countries,” Minister for Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said on Tuesday. He was talking to a delegation of a Malaysian business at the Social Security office.
The Malaysian delegation comprised Mass Rapid Transport Company Director Fazalullah Hassan, Deputy Director Zarif Zanel and General Manager Gamooda Aadil.
Members of the delegation said skilled workers were required in thousands for a landmark mass rapid transit project in Malaysia.
The minister said skilled Pakistani workers had completed the metro bus project in a very short span of time.
He said he expected industrialists, traders and investors all over the world to visit Pakistan and attend the International Labourers conference to be held in April next year. Hassan said steel fixers and shuttering carpenters among others were required for their project.
