
A collision between a van and an oil tanker killed seven members of a family, including two children, near the Khan Bagh area on Monday.
According to the police, the oil tanker was heading towards Gujranwala when a van from the opposite direction collided with the truck on the bridge amidst thick fog.
The collision was so severe that the van was crushed, killing seven and injuring three others.
The deceased included two children, three women and four men. The family belonged to Ladhewala Waraich, and the victims had been identified. Police have registered a case against the driver of the oil tanker. The current fog spell in the plains of Punjab and Sukkur division would continue with variable intensity and occasional gaps till the first good spell of winter rains in the country.
According to the synoptic situation, continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country.
