Education Foundation: Partner schools to get student data software

The Information Technology Department of the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will distribute CDs of students’ information system (SIS) software at small-scale private schools on Monday (today).
This is phase 10 of the PEF’s Education Voucher Scheme (EVS). The CDs will also be distributed in Bahawalnagar, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gunjranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, Lahore, Mandi Bahaudin, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.According to a PEF spokesperson, the ceremony will be held at the Children’s Library Complex at 11am on December 16.
The spokesperson said that the PEF’s IT department had completed the process of distribution of such CDs among EVS partners in Attock, Khushab, Chakwal, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Jhang, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Muzaffargarh and Vehari.
The SIS software has been designed and launched by the PEF-IT department to facilitate partner schools to store and manage their students’ data to ensure complete transparency and efficiency of the educational programs.
Champions of libraries
The Punjab University Library is organising a two-day international conference on Champions of Libraries in collaboration with the Pakistan Library Association today at 9:30am at Environmental Law Auditorium.
Vice Chancellor Mujahid Kamran will preside over the inaugural session. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Chaudhary Muhammad Shafiq will be special guests. The conference will be attended by more than 10 vice chancellors, rectors of universities and dignitaries and around 400 delegates from all over Pakistan and abroad.
Arabic exam
The Punjab University Examination Department on Sunday announced that BS Secondary Education four years programme fourth semester examination paper for Arabic-IV (ARB-202) will commence on January 9 instead of January 4, 2014. The time of day and place for the examination will remain as already notified.
