Robbery Bid Foiled: Fiver members of gang held

A policeman was also killed during the exchange of fire, police says.

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi police arrested five members of an intra-district gang and seized arms and stolen goods from them after exchange of fire. According to the police, the gang was active in committing robberies in Rawalpindi, Jhelum and Attock. The robbers were arrested during a robbery of a house in Afshan Colony in the limits of the Race Course Police Station. A policeman was also killed during the exchange of fire, the police said. The robbers were identified as Ali Akbar, Ali Jabran, Murtaza, Muhammad Nazir and Ali Aslam.
