Headless: CDA, Capital’s gossip central

ISLAMABAD:

Without a chairman for almost a week, 13,000 employees of the capital’s civic are twiddling their thumbs while gossiping over who their new boss will be.

For reasons best known to the decision makers, the federal government has still not decided on a successor.

In the absence of a chairman, the CDA headquarters building has turned into a venue of merrymaking for employees, who were already in the habit of finishing their assignments and even routine office work only under pressure from the top.

Rumour-mongering about the appointment of a new chairman and sharing their views on different officers who are running for the slot are the topics to discuss for idle officials.

Insiders claim the new chairman will be from Sindh or Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and not from Punjab.
