KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has called for the records relating to the appointments made by the special education department under the disabled persons’ quota.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, who headed the bench, passed these directions while hearing a petition filed by 47 people with disabilities, who complained of being deprived of the jobs that they had been appointed for.

Sajjad Hussain, along with 46 others, had taken the secretary of the special education department and the accountant general to court over the cancellation of their appointments. Special education department secretary’s personal assistant Ali Khaskheli and section officer Abdul Majeed Memon appeared before the bench on Friday, when they were told to submit a report by January 21.
