Street Crime: NADRA official shot dead

Police said Deputy Manager (Accounts) Muhammad Owais was driving home when unidentified men stopped him and shot him.

MULTAN: A National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) official was shot dead on Wednesday night.

Police said Deputy Manager (Accounts) Muhammad Owais was driving home when unidentified men stopped him and shot him, killing him on the spot. The assailants fled. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Police said they had started an investigation.

In Bahawalpur, a man was killed allegedly by him brother-in-law. Police said the deceased had killed his fath er-in-law a year ago and was on bail. Police said Muhammad Iqbal had had a rivalry with his brother-in-law Mazhar Nazeer since he (Iqbal) had killed his father-in-law Muhammad Nazeer a year ago. On Thursday, Mazhar shot Iqbal in the street and fled. Police had registered an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s family.
