Protest: ‘Govt should ensure gas supply’
Abaidullah Sheikh protests the government’s decision to indefinitely suspend natural gas supply to industries.
FAISALABAD:
“What good is the GSP Plus status if we cannot deliver our orders?” Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association Punjab chairman Abaidullah Sheikh said on Wednesday protesting the government’s decision to indefinitely suspend natural gas supply to industries.
He said there was no justification for the suspension as the weather remained mild in the Punjab. He said the government had promised that it would ensure gas supply to the industrial sector in December. “And yet the gas supply has been suspended, 10 days into December,” he said.
Sheikh said that the gas supply to industries should be ensured in order to enable them to continue their operations.
