Met Police release ‘money launderers’

Met Police spokesperson says they were not disclosing any information regarding their political affiliation.

The Metropolitan Police in London released two men on bail on Friday, a day after they were arrested in connection with a money-laundering case.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the Met Police spokesperson said they were not disclosing the names of the two suspects at the moment or any information regarding their political affiliation.

But according to BBC Urdu, the arrests of the two men was in connection with the money-laundering case which police officers in UK had initiated after raiding the house of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in December last year.

A press statement by the Met police stated that officers from their Counter Terrorism Command arrested two men, aged 70 and 40 years, in West London on Thursday. They were taken to a central London police station and were released on bail on Friday till a later date in January.
