Defending champion Asif knocked out of IBSF World Championship

Shahid Aftab proceeded to the next round after defeating Brijesh Damani of India 4-1.

Defending Champion Mohaamad Asif has been knocked out by the Shahbaaz Adil Khan of India in the ongoing IBSF World Championship in Latvia on Wednesday.

Khan defeated Asif 4-3 (76-34, 65-15, 34-80, 66-16, 23-75, 23-67 and 71-7).

Meanwhile, compatriot Shahid Aftab won his match to proceed into the next round of the tournament. He defeated Brijesh Damani of India 4-1 (66-22, 68-16, 39-51, 56-34 and 69-55).

Aftab will now face Shahbaaz Adil Khan of India in the next round.

Earlier in the day, Imran Shehzad became the first out of the four Pakistan cueists to bow out of the ongoing IBSF World Championship as he was upstaged by Belgium’s Hans Blanckaert 4-2.

Mohammad Sajjad won 4-2 against Scotland’s Mark.
