Security official killed in North Waziristan

A security official was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Speen Wam tehsil of North Waziristan Agency.

MIRANSHAH: A security official was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Speen Wam tehsil of North Waziristan Agency on Monday.

According to an official of the forces, unidentified men opened fire at a security camp in Speen Wam severely injuring Frontier Corps official Dilawar Khan. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, in another incident in the agency, a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Dirdoni, Ghulam tehsil, however, no loss was reported. The security official further said the forces also defused a roadside bomb on Bannu-Miranshah Road in Khadi.

Earlier, the political administration imposed  a curfew for an indefinite period due to which government departments were closed down.
