Police deny detention: PML-N lawmaker freed within hours

Federal lawmaker and PML-N leader Dr Ahmad was released by police hours after he was arrested by Faisalabad police.

FAISALABAD: Federal lawmaker and PML-N leader Dr Nisar Ahmad Jatt was released by police on Sunday hours after he was arrested by Faisalabad police. Dr Ahmad was arrested along with the two persons named in the case registered on the complaint of the deputy superintendent General Post Office (GPO) Faisalabad, Nauman Salahuddin Wardag. Upon his release the lawmaker told media that he was victimised by the police as he had filed a complaint against the Inspector General of Police Punjab Khan Baig to the Punjab Chief Minister for alleged malpractices pertaining to the appointments of the SSPs, and other irregularities.
