The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has chalked out a plan to protest in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad on December 5 to pressurise the federal government to pass a resolution against drone strikes and Nato supply lines.
On Saturday, a meeting was held in Peshawar between Minister for Information Shah Farman, Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan and Minister for IT and Agriculture Shahram Tarakai. They decided the protest would be held outside the Parliament House after the Senate and National Assembly sessions start on December 4, to make it more effective.
The protesters will be led by K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. On the occasion, K-P Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser will chair an informal session of the assembly outside the building. Opposition parties in the K-P government were also contacted to participate in this session, however, they refused.
It was discussed in the meeting that the federal government would be urged to pass a resolution against Nato supplies and drone strikes, and to convene a new all-parties conference for the restoration of peace.
It was also decided the K-P government will also protest in front of the United States (US) Embassy in Islamabad and in front of the United Nations office, where they will present a resolution to their officials against drone strikes in Pakistan.
Members of K-P Assembly, under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami senior leader Sirajul Haq have previously protested in front of the US Consulate in Peshawar and have presented a resolution to them on the matter as well.

Instead of protesting against Nato Supplies, KP government should be protesting against Federal government and army's failure to save the province from attacks from foreign forces in form of militants and drones. As per constitution defence from external forces is federal subject.
Federation has chosen to ignore the killings in KPK for the sake of their own geo political games. Its time for people of KPK to give a wake up call to federation.
@salman:
You obviously did not get the pun, my kind Sir. This is what IK used to taunt PML-N with between 2008-2013. Shahbaz Sharif and PML-N did what they had to do because at the end of the day they are all politicians who play to the gallery. Even a layman can now come to the conclusion that what IK and PTI are doing is also playing to the gallery personified and nothing else.
Hypocrite, Moi?!! No way......Hypocrite, IK? Most definitely and that too of the highest pedigree.
The issue is significant. But PTI on the overall is disappointing, IK please do something, already I see your popularity is reduced to one fourth in 5 five months.
@Adnan Siddiqi: Sir, you seem to have a short memory, or intentionally forget things. May I remind you how shahbaz sharif, while part of the last fedral government, was protesting against the PPP govt on load shedding and other issues. Going so far to even move his own offices to the tent village. You sir, are reaching new heights of hypocrisy!
Was PTI elected for protest processions or to perform & deliver.
Unemployment. These people have no jobs and are offered petty sums to protest. What else would they do. Imran Khan has further ruined the already crippled economy of KPK.
@Nikki: Still better than sitting at home while foreign lobbies abuse your nation's sovereignty and your rulers try day and night to rob you of your hard earned cash. Atleast put in a positive word rather than criticizing people who are, in effect, fighting for our freedom and are denying slavery!
Nothing will come out,useless hue and cry. These people have nothing to do, and wasting -spending their time in slogans
