A three-day chrysanthemum and autumn flower show began in the capital on Friday at the picturesque Rose and Jasmine Garden.
Multiple varieties of chrysanthemum including intermediate, incurred, reflex, sprays, anemone, pompons, Korean hybrid, single floor and spidery flower were displayed in mound, stall and rainbow orders at the show. Special segments of flower arrangements and cut flowers were also included.
Miniature gardens, stand flowers and vegetable stalls are also part of the show which attracted a huge crowd on its opening day.
A variety of exotic birds, including parrots are also on display. The feathery chatterboxes, which attracted adults and children in droves with their squawks and vibrant colours, make ideal pets. Over 15 institutes and organisations, including Pakistan Air Force, Islamabad Club, Quaid-i-Azam University and Suparco are participating in the show by displaying their stalls. The flower show will conclude on December 1.
The Capital Development Authority organised the event in collaboration with the Islamabad Horticulture Society.
