The four-member apex court bench comprising Justices Jawwad S Khawaja, Khilji Arif Hussain and Amir Hani Muslim is hearing the case at the Karachi Registry. The bench is headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The bench had asked the FC IG in the last hearing to appear before the court and explain the security situation in Balochistan as his forces are present in most part of the province to ensure law and order.
The IG did not appear before the court which enraged the bench. IG’s counsel informed the judges that he could not come in person because of his busy schedule.
The court has asked the FC IG to appear during today’s hearing otherwise he will be charged with contempt of court.

The chief justice had ordered the newly appointed defence minister to trace 35 people who have long been missing by December 2.

The judges had also observed that the allegations in the missing persons’ cases, directly or indirectly, lead to either the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) or FC, who are still denying anything to do with the detentions.

CJ we need actions IG FC is making mockery of law and must be punished .if those people were involved in anto state activities they must be presented .law should be supreme .hope CJ will do something good before leaving

Sorting out such bullies is a flip of fingers for COAS. Things should not be taken to impasse. Political leadership should come in between, or they all would be losers.

CJ is not the only citizen who has respect for law & he is getting cranky as his retirement is getting near. Desperate man can never decide correctly. It will be good for him to proceed on leave for the rest of days instead of creating an impasse in every institution. Those who put their lives on line for the country are way better citizens than those who sit in comfort of offices and think that others are their slaves. I salute the patience of Gen Kiyani who despite repeated instigation from Judiciary remained steadfast to support Democracy. But this has always been exploited. Another victim had been NAB which has drew the wrath of SC & repeatedly challenged every Chairman NAB.

@Muneer: he CJ is not asking for security positron this case is regarding missing persons where FC is defense party.
The FC is under the Interior Ministry.IGFC is responsible to them and not the CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry/ SC.The CJ cannot ask him to explain the security situation in the Province.Otherwise,it will soon ask the company/ platoon commander to explain the security situation in their repective areas. If the CJ wants to know the security situation it should ask the Ministry of Interior and not call IGFC directly.This is the rules of business and not what this CJ wants. If he wants to call IGFC he should ask the relevant Ministry stating the reasons. That is why the IGFC is not probably appearing before him.His non appearance is exactly as per rules of business/ law/ procedure.
A FC commandant who happens to be a serving army officer had defy country's superior courts order. Also defense Secretary who escape to US while he was charge with defying courts order. People blame TTP that they don't accept country constitution. Alright it is accepted and very obvious but what about these army officers who take oath of abiding country's constitution but defy when it against their will. So who is bad those who don't accept this constitution or those who takes oath but defies it when it displease them.
Pakistan Army must take the threats seriously as it is impairing the confidence in command of Pakistan Army.

The officers in service of State of Pakistan are being humilated by the chief Justice as a routine. If IGFC present himself before this demeaning judge, he will have no honor for uniform.
