Residents told The Express Tribune a contingent of security forces raided the house of a man identified as Fazal on Wednesday morning. It is said the homeowners put up a fight and offered tough resistance. Both sides exchanged fire for several hours, following which two residents were killed and two officials were injured.

According to residents, Fazal had a personal dispute with another group and after the Taliban established their presence in the area, Fazal involved them to end his rivalry.
“The man had a bloody feud in which militants declared ceasefire months ago,” shared a residents. He alleged Fazal had been blamed in the past for being involved in kidnappings for ransom.
