ISLAMABAD:

Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) will be hosted here from December 8 to 10 to discuss issues related to economy, energy and environment, announced Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed.

The theme for 2013 is, ‘Asian Century: Cooperation in Economy, Energy and Environment’.  An ‘Islamabad Declaration’ will be issued the conclusion of the conference in which around 200 delegates from 25 Asian countries will be representing their parliaments, Senator Mushahid Hussain, chairman of the organising committee of the APA, told the media at Parliament House on Tuesday.

“It is now generally recognised that the 21st century will be an Asian Century,” he said. It is imperative that the elected representatives of the people of Asia must shape the destiny of Asia so that the problems of world’s biggest continent can be resolved by Asians themselves.
