The party had set up camp near the Hayatabad Toll Plaza on Sunday to monitor trucks passing through the city and prevent Nato containers from entering Peshawar.
Supporters of PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami were present at the protest camp and checking identification documents to distinguish Nato trucks from regular cargo carriers.
Coalition partners in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly had decided to block Nato supply routes in protest against the US drone campaign in Pakistan. The unmanned offensive was earlier limited to the tribal areas but was recently extended to K-P’s Hangu area.
Brawl
A few armed men got into a fight and opened fire near the PTI camp, causing panic. They tried to escape when the police arrived, however, officers arrested a suspect named Zaman and filed a case against him.
PTI Peshawar General Secretary Younis Zaheer told The Express Tribune that none of the people involved in the fight were PTI activists.
He said PTI supporters intervened to resolve the issue and had nothing to do with the fight.
DG Khan
In Dera Ghazi Khan, MNA Jamshed Dasti also held a sit-in along with his supporters. Members of religious parties were present at the protest as well.
Dasti said the routes will remain blocked until they are assured that there will be no more drone strikes.

@rkfrom ny: Haqqani is a major Pukhtoon tribe from Afghanistan. What does this have to do with the topic?
@Umer: haqqanis are not afghan terrorists...they are your terrorists...they were groomed to attack afghanistan and india....!!
Does not the attempts to disrupt supply routes hurts common Pakistanis? The drivers who are trying to make an honest living are probably working on daily wages. In most cases they are the sole earners for a large family. Just think who is being hurt? The people of the region have suffered enough. Our governments have been working together to bring about peace that is desired by the majority of the people in the region. Polls after polls have shown clearly, that the common man has rejected the terrorist violence at an overwhelming rate. Together we need to work and come out with solutions for peace and better life for the people of the region. Is that not the commonly desired goal?
Abdul Quddus DET- United States Central Command
Imran Khan is idiocy as become incurable now. Can some one tell him to bring his sons at least, so we donot die alone.
@Adnan Siddiqi: And what picture is already in front of the world of our Pakistan? You people are I don't know some kind of mutation has effected to your minds which keeps you on drugs and compels you never to reply back if some one is heartening your national security, your moral, damaging country's face its economy lifting up all the tourism industry, packing up all the foreign even the local investment and guess what you have no issues with that my friend!. But you have problems if someone stands to protect its people to question Your authorities that why you attacking us when its an international crime, when because of your drones innocent lives are gone, when you sabotage our peace process to discriminate the militant elements from tribal areas and then countering the real enemies.
My advise stay back, sit down if you cant stand for your country.
Regards
Abdul Wahab Awan
@Indra:
You seem to have seven heads and each one can shoot hate higher than the singing fountains at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai throw water!!!
Tell me what is kali up to these days?
Cant believe Pakistanis support drone attacks in their own land.Many innocent people die.If this goes on, be ready for Bangladesh 2, I mean Pakthoondesh.Oops sorry, Pakthoons are not indic, so use Sthan. Oh, I forgot, Sthan comes from Sanskrit, Sthana!-place off. Oh my my, so where did humanity begin? Manu and his children? manu was from where?..oh then why are we fighting?cause we are not Hindu, we dont remember our grandfather, how will we ever remember a Purana?(Pun).So then why is Urudistan using the word Sthana? God only knows.
@ Jamal
A sit-in to support the dead thousands of Pakistani!
@NAAN Siddiqi:
No worries--we can smell your stench from miles away! Suffering momentary constipation now?
Just like always,the leaders including IK has left after setting up goons to take over.Nice way to admit any responsibility for international fallout.As if people will be fooled.
So where's the govt in all this? Who gave these people the right to stop traffic, check papers or otherwise assume the responsibilities of the police/military? The term "failed state" comes to mind.
PTI is creating a major headache for the days to come. Current wave of terrorism is not due to drones, but the policies of MMA government, which provided safe heaven to the foreign terrorists escaping from Afghanistan, and allowed the likes of Mullah Radio to become stakeholders. These embolden criminals then unleashed reign of terror throughout Pakistan. Now again the anarchy of this lot of vigilante will create a huge law and order situation for days to come. Not sure who PTI will blame then.
Now pakistan have to face under US sanctions if not co-operating with us.
So, does this also imply that no Heroin will cross in to Pakistan until the sit down ends? :( What are American soldiers gonna do with so much Opium that they helped grow over the year?
JI is one of very violent parties at students organization level. Sadly, it has been endorsed and given shoulder by PTI. Otherwise they have received historical defeat in Elections 2013. Liaqat baloch could only secure 3000+ votes and now he is able to address thousands at PTI rallies, ironic.
@John the Baptist: @Mogambo: @Who Cares:
What a joke. It's only day three and now kids joining Dharna. Please do not use children as human sheild as Talibaans do. You can't stop yourself from making blunders and bloops, IK.
And my very own Fan Club has arrived!! Keep simmering yourself in a fit of jealousy :D
@Who Cares:
Why not, if drones are killing Afghan terrorists like Haqanis that your PTI government would not catch?
A sit-in to support dead terrorists, and not a peep about the soldiers killed? Shows the true face of PTI.
PTI, JI, both parties should be banned and leaders arrested. They are fitna creating parties.
@Naan Siddiqi:
Hate cauldron seems to hit the boiling point! We love seeing you all get tied up in verbal knots. Please spit some more venom!
PTI and JI are setting bad trend in politics. It is ruining our children and promoting private force. Both parties should also raise voice and denounce TTP for killing at Anchol, karachi. Shaheeds at Karachi were Pakistani, muslims , and real innocents unlike the terrorists killed in drone attacks. Drones are productive for are pakistan. We should be grateful to America for fighting our war..
@Adnan Siddiqi : As if US drones paint a better picture? Not following your your que here.. What would you rather want .. let me guess more drones? Such a son of Land your are.. Bravo!
Clashes start between Pro-PTI and Anti-PTI groups at ring road.
@Owais Mukhtar:
We are all feeling sad since PTI and JI's actions remind us of private militias once operated by warlords like Farrah Aidid in Mogadishu. Thanks PTI and JI for presenting such a deplorable and dysfunctional picture of Pakistan.
ET feeling sad ??
