KARACHI:
The Sindh government has decided to make an amendment to the local government system 2013 by inserting a provision to allow candidates at union council level to contest elections by forming panels. “After this amendment, not only political but independent group of people can also form their panel with one electoral symbol,” said minister for parliamentary affairs, Dr Sikandar Mandhro. He said that they have also included a provision in the law to enable independent people to join any party after three days of their victory in the polls. “The assembly is not in session, therefore, the governor can issue the ordinance which will be passed into law in the next session of the provincial assembly,” he added.
