Stating that Pakistan considers Iran to be a brotherly neighbouring country, the statement added that a peaceful solution to the issue had always been desired.
The statement from the ministry said that it was being stressed that a confrontation be avoided on the Iran's nuclear program by Pakistan as it could have destabilised the region.
The understanding between Iran and P5+1 in Geneva is important as it bodes well for the peace and security situation in the region and the world.
P5+1 group which comprises of the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany met in Geneva on Saturday and reached an understanding in a bid to reach an interim accord with Iran on its nuclear programme after a decade of failed efforts.

Indeed, Pakistan welcomes Iran for not making Atomic Bomd !
In the meamtime, Pakistan making Atomic Bomb for Saudi Arabia (later to be use against Iran).
They haven't gotten much from this deal. Just $7 billion in sanctions relief. Putting that into context Iran is an oil rich country that exports billions of dollars worth of crude every month. It has forex reserves in the hundreds of billions of dollars. So not much win for them, yet.
@Zain Dar:
How much of a benefit does a nuclear weapon really give to Pakistan?
Were a nuclear war to occur, India could sustain a nuclear attack from Pakistan and still survive. But Pakistan can not sustain an attack from India and survive.
well done islamic Republic Of Iran after hard work by all the countries it's wonderful result maybe the civil atom R&D will democretise to help all the countries of the world Ir Iran faught well durring 10 long years Bravo & hats off to Ir Iran a lesson for all the countries
Iran has time and again said that its nuclear program is of civilian nature and is for peaceful purposes. Germany is doing away with its nuclear power plants, and 2022 is set as a deadline. Rest of the world should also start doing the same, a case in point is the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster in Japan.
@Mohd tarekh: @Adil Uddin: Not only Hiroshima and Nagasaki massacre, US used depleted uranium in the Iraq war, which is still causing severe birth defects in new born babies. With roughly half a million people killed in the war; some independent sources gives the figure of 0.8-1.0 million Iraqis killed.

* understanding reached between Iran and P5 +1 in Geneva* Is there a lesson to be learned from it? Yes PTI, JUI,JI?
Dear Foreign Ministry: Did anyone ask your opinion, does your opinion matter and why was it necessary to pontificate on the matter anyway? At times it is better to maintain a quiet dignity.
...and who cares..???
@Mohd Tarekh.... As stupid as you sound, I would give you the benefit of doubt that you are merely trolling and don't really believe that. Nuclear weapons in the hand of India and Pakistan are the best things to happen to the region. This guarantees there would be no more full-scale war between the countries...
Pakistan also have to get rid of nuclear weapons for peace and stability in the region
@Mohd tarekh:
Yeah it was Pakistan who dropped bombs on civilian population of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Isn't it?
Good for Iran.
What good is nuclear weapons anyways?
Pakistan is a nuclear power that can't even produce a needle or give its citizens electricity and security.
Just weird!
Welcome is good.... And what of our gas pipeline dream/project.... Can't see americans wanting to lift sanction on that one yet?!?!
Now let us denuclearize pakistan for the betterment of the world.............
Extremely good news.Iran' courageous decision for it's betterment..It is in the benefit of Pakistan too.
Strange, isn't it? Your Interior Ministers prefers standing up against the USA over dollars and your Foreign Ministry welcomes Iran for securing $7 Billion from the west.
