MoU signed: NGO, ministry vow to work for children’s rights

The NGO and the ministry also agreed to expedite the passage by parliament of pending legislations.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Plan International Pakistan and Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights to work together for the rights of marginalised children across Pakistan, said a press release issued on Friday.


Plan International Pakistan, an organisation working for children’s rights- will provide support to the ministry in carrying out international obligations focusing on the rights of children, girls and women.


The NGO and the ministry also agreed to expedite the passage by parliament of pending legislations including the Child Protection (Criminal Law Amendment) Bill 2009, the National Commission on the Rights of the Child Bill 2009, the Charter of Child Rights Bill 2009, the Prohibition of Corporal Punishment, the Child Marriages Restraint (Amendment) Bill 2009.
